The University of Luxembourg proposes Jens Kreisel as new Vice-Rector for Research
After receiving the opinion of the University Council, the Board of Governors of the University proposed to the government to appoint Prof. Jens Kreisel Vice-Rector of the University of Luxembourg. Assuming office on 1 September 2018, Prof. Kreisel will mainly be responsible for the areas research and innovation. Brought up in Dortmund, Germany, Jens Kreisel (48) studied physics in Germany and France. In 1999, he obtained his PhD in materials science at the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble. Then, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford before joining the “Centre national de la recherche scientifique” (CNRS) in Grenoble, where he was appointed Research Director in 2009.
