Successful take-off for the Luxembourg Space Agency
On 12 Sep 2018, the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) was officially launched, with the aim of promoting the economic development of the Grand Duchy’s space industry. A dedicated fund is also being set up, targeting an initial capital of 100 million euros to support the emergence of new space companies with innovative ideas and technologies.
Small on Earth, but Giant in Space: the ambitions of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy Étienne Schneider have always been clear since the launch of the Spaceresources.lu initiative in 2016.
A major step forward has been taken this Wednesday, with the announcement of the launch of the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), under the umbrella of the Ministry of the Economy.
Unlike many similar organisations abroad, the LSA will not conduct direct research or launch missions, but it will foster collaboration between the major players in the space industry, with a mission to accelerate the emerging innovation-oriented businesses.
